Our History

Our Team

Concerned by the growing number of pets being euthanized in Palm Beach County shelters, Ava Rhodes founded Passion for Pets, Inc. in 2009.  She realized that financial downturn was having a large impact on the number of pets in these shelters.  More and more pet owners were being forced to turn their pets over to shelters because they could no long afford to care for them.

Ava moved into action and created a pet charity that provided pet food, care, and foster care/adoption alternatives to help pet owners facing financial difficulties. Since 2009, Ava and her all volunteer team have provided 300 pets with vet care, collected and distributed over 25,000 pounds of pet food and assisted in the rescue and adoption of 175 pets.
